The lighthouse of Stavros

Welcome to The lighthouse of Stavros

Cape Stavros is located on the northern side of the prefecture of Heraklion. St stavros is an elongated rock incredibly steep that like a tongue penetrates several meters into the cretan sea on the coastline between the villages of Fodele and Agia pelagia. Stavros is a very wild and at the same time imposing and beautiful area with very deep waters and an incredibly vertical cliff on each side. Only those who find themselves by boat at the base of the Stavros cliff can feel the unique awe and wildness that this corner of Crete evokes. At the edge of the cape there is a small lighthouse that warns ships and very close to the lighthouse is the chapel of Aghios Sozonas. Agios Sozon is a whitewashed chapel with blue stripes on the edge of the cliff and in a spot that is clearly visible from the sea.
